Beach Patrol

The Sea Colony Beach Patrol is led by Aquatics Manager and Beach Captain Dave Griffith. Working with him are certified and experienced lifeguards who patrol the half-mile of sand and surf from Memorial Day weekend until early October.

Sea Colony's beach earned United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) certification by meeting or exceeding safety standards and training set forth by the USLA. Lifeguard duties include educating the public, warning swimmers and beachgoers of potential dangers, rescuing distressed swimmers, reuniting lost and found individuals and many additional responsibilities.

All members of the beach patrol are certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. In addition, all officers are Delaware State First Responder Certified, and one officer is a Sussex County Paramedic. Hours of operation for 2012 will be posted soon.

Pool Guards

Sea Colony has two indoor pools with hot tubs and 10 outdoor pools, most having baby pools as well.  The Aquatics Department employs Red Cross Certified Lifeguards, who are certified in Lifeguarding and First Aid, as well as C.P.R. and A.E.D. for the Professional Rescuer.  Certifications are available on-site from Sea Colony's certified instructors.
